RCMP Memorial Fund ¡V
A Salute to the Fallen:
In September 2002, CHMB undertook as the exclusive multicultural media
in Greater Vancouver to help the RCMP raise fund to build a memorial in
honour of officers who lost their lives in the course of duty. Thanks to
the overwhelming response from listeners, over $10,000 were raised
within six weeks and the donation was the most significant to date.
World Vision Child Support Day:
CHMB mounted a 17-hour radiothon on behalf of World Vision of Canada in
October 2002 and successfully recruited a total of 253 child sponsors.
Similar activities held previously in Toronto were able to attract only
half that number. Picture shows CHMB¡¦s Chief Operating Officer Teresa
Wat (centre) and Program Host Penny Choi (second from left) receiving a
certificate of appreciation from the World Vision of Canada.
In collaboration with the BC Cancer Agency, CHMB is organizing a monthly education series throughout 2003 on the ¡§Ten Most Common Cancers in the Chinese-Canadian Community¡¨. The free seminars are presented by prominent cancer specialists and is aimed at raising public awareness on the causes, prevention, treatment and general knowledge on some of the cancers most frequently seen among Chinese-Canadians. ¡@ Link to Environment Protection Tips for June 2003 CHMB continues to be a favorite media outlet for advertisers to promote their services or products. Well-known companies often count on the station's effective remote broadcast and other sales tools to achieve exceptional results. |
