CHMB AM1320 is launching a radiothon and campaign to raise funds for the China earthquake victims.

The earthquake, measuring 7.9 on the Richter scale, hit Sichuan Province on Monday(May 12th), causing widespread damage and loss of life.

The death toll is still rising while a further hundreds of thousands of people are affected by this natural disaster.

Thousands of homes were destroyed leaving hundreds of thousands of people homeless. They are now living in temporary shelters, such as tents.

Public donations can be deposited at any HSBC bank branches or at our station. Cheques should be made payable to “AM1320 China Earthquake Relief Fund” or “AM1320 CERF”. All of our proceeds will be given to the charitable organization, Tzu Chi, which is involved in the rescue efforts. Tax receipt will be given to any donations over $10. As of 16:30pm on June 9, 2008, "AM1320 CERF" account has received $1,047,417.39 donation.
